TOOL / MISSED CALLS
What are the calls you cannot answer costing you?
Three numbers you already know, and arithmetic you can check. No email required, nothing is sent anywhere, and the figure stays on your screen.

This is arithmetic on three numbers you chose, not a projection. It assumes a missed call you never return is a job that went elsewhere, which is usually true in trades and usually not true for existing customers. Halve it if most of your calls are people you already work with.
Why this number is usually worse than it looks.
The missed call is the only business loss with no evidence. A lost bid leaves a record, a bad review leaves a mark, and a cancelled job gets discussed. A caller who reaches voicemail and dials the next number leaves nothing at all, so the number above never appears in any report you read.
That is also why it goes unfixed for years. Nobody is ignoring it. They genuinely cannot see it.
Questions about the maths.
Is this an industry average?
No. It is arithmetic on three numbers you typed. An average would be a worse answer, because the thing that decides this is your job value and your mix of callers, not a benchmark.
What percentage should I use?
Use what you believe. In trades, a caller with an urgent problem who reaches voicemail usually calls the next company, so the honest figure is higher than most owners guess. For businesses whose calls are mostly existing customers, it is much lower.
Does answering every call actually pay for itself?
That is the point of running the number. If the figure above is smaller than what it would cost to fix, do not fix it. Some businesses genuinely do not have this problem.
