What needed
to work better.
The same video can appear on several platforms. Comparing lifetime totals obscures the difference between an older post and a newer one, while manual reporting makes reviewing performance harder to sustain.

- A data model connecting a video with its platform-specific posts and successive metric readings.
- Collection and import scripts for publishing analytics, with reporting views and review rules.
- A dashboard export that labels simulated data and flags stale information.
03 /The thinking
PostDeck treats the video as the creative unit and keeps successive readings instead of overwriting history. That allows comparisons at similar ages rather than treating every lifetime total as equivalent.
04 /The decisions
The site reads an export, not a live database
Publishing analytics did not need a server. Reading an exported file keeps the whole thing static, cheap and impossible to break from outside, at the cost of manual refreshes. That trade is worth making for an internal tool.
Demonstration data stays labelled
Sample rows are marked as samples wherever they appear. An internal tool full of plausible-looking fake numbers is the fastest way to lose trust in the real ones.
Collection is separate from presentation
The import scripts and the dashboard are deliberately different pieces, so a change to how data is gathered never risks the thing people look at.
